Trail follows and crosses Spar Creek. Rocky cliffs line the stream most the way. Trail ends at the scenic Little Spar Lake.

Age Old Giant Cedars

California has its redwoods and Montana has its famous Ross Creek Cedars. The Ross Creek Cedars scenic area is one of the favorites for tourist and locals alike.  You can make your visit to the Cedars as long as you like.  For a quick tour take the 0.9 mile flat path through the age old giants.  Informative signs which include the history and ecology of the area are posted along the shorter 0.9 miles trail.  For a longer tour, the trail branches off to the Middle and the South Fork of Ross creek. There is no camping at the cedar grove, but there is camping 5 minutes away at the Forest Service Bad Medicine Campground.
